Just in case you didn't notice (I didn't until now), the 1381 voltage detectors now come in a surface mount version. Digikey cat number is MN1382-*CT-ND (* is the trigger voltage letter). See page 161 of the Sept-Oct 1998 Canadian Digikey catalog.

All Electronics has some Escape gear motors for $17.50 each. Awesome current draw but the low RPM's and high price are big minuses. Thanks to Dennison for finding this one.

Rich Piotter is planning to assemble an affordable walker kit for next year. E-mail him if your interested.

If you don't mind the cost All Electronics sells those BG Micro gear motors at a whopping $17.00 each (not even a pair). Compared to BG Micros $7.99 for a pair it is quite a rip off. Cat# is DCM-105 and DCM-106. Judging by the illustration in their catalog the DCM-106 has better mounting holes.

I finally found Rich Piotter's BEAM page.

Mr. Goerlich has posted an image of his aquavore ideas.

Is it October already. Bye bye summer...hello Vancouver rain.

If you want to get rid of those MPJA motors, Dave's got a deal for you. Hmmm...I wonder what he's doing with them?
(Dave's E-mail)
We want to offer a trade to anybody who wants to dispose of any extra "Marlin P. Jones & Associates" (MPJA) gearhead motors they might have. Those are the goldish ones with the open gearbox mounted on a squared-off motor.
We'll trade 2 TPM's or 1 TPM & 1 RPM for them.
To keep this "commercial-ish" post short, if you're interested, let me know and we'll send out full details.
Regards,
Dave

Jon sent me a jpg of his LM3909 photovore design. Click for the schematic. It's good to see people experimenting with new techniques.

To all of you that entered or want to enter the MicroVore contest...T-MINUS two months and counting!!!
